With so many different children currently in need of care, potentially anyone over the age of 21 can foster providing they can offer a safe and loving environment.
The Telford fostering team are always looking for carers from varying backgrounds, religions and cultures in an effort to place children with like minded families.
Their current foster carers come from all backgrounds, with retired people, school workers, ex-policemen, military personnel and stay at home mums all approved, showing that anyone can give a child the home they deserve.
Certain qualities are preferred including experience of listening to children, the confidence to handle difficult situations and the flexibility to try out new things.
They also look for people who have the commitment and determination to see things through, alongside a willingness to be honest with the fostering team. Being a foster parent can be demanding and the team is there to help as much as possible.
Of course, a spare bedroom is necessary as all of their children need a bedroom of their own.
